JUMBO, the leading toy retailer in the Balkan region, is accelerating its store expansion plans in Romania. The company recently opened its 13th store in the country and is set to enter a new city, Brasov, by October this year.
AGGRESSIVE EXPANSION IN ROMANIA
JUMBO, plans to continue its aggressive expansion in Romania, aiming to reach a total of 25 stores by 2020. In addition to the new hypermarket in Brasov, the chain expects to open one more store in Romania in the fiscal year 2019/2010.
The Greek retailer recorded a 30 percent sales increase in Romania in the first 10 months of the current financial year. The period was also marked by the expansion of JUMBO’s store network in Voluntari, Bacau and Braila.
JUMBO IN SOUTH EAST EUROPE
At present, JUMBO has a network of 78 stores in Greece (51), Romania (13), Bulgaria (9) and Cyprus (5), as well as an online shop. The company is also present in Macedonia, Albania, Serbia, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina through partnerships with local companies,
BALFIN GROUP, JUMBO’s franchise partner for Albania, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced plans to expand the chain in two new markets, Montenegro and Moldova, in 2019.
