Kragujevac Plaza and Promenada Mall in Serbia, operated by NEPI Rockcastle, received certificates issued by Safe Shopping Centers, to comply with COVID-19 international security measures.
The certificates were awarded by the Safe Shopping Centers (SSC), an independent Swedish company that assesses the safety of shopping centers around the world.
“We are delighted to be working with NEPI Rockcastle on this important mission, for both of their shopping malls in Serbia. In this way, they once again confirm their leading role in the countries where they do business, greatly exceeding the prescribed minimums and setting up new standards of responsibility when it comes to shopping centers, ” said the representatives of SSC.
Promenada mall was the first shopping center to receive this certificate in Serbia in June, and soon after Kragujevac Plaza followed the trend.
MEASURES TO ENSURE SAFE SHOPPING
Preventive measures have been implemented throughout the shopping centers. The main goal of these measures is to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus and is focused on two main pillars: ensuring social distancing of at least 2 meters and arranging constant disinfection of the shopping centers.
Hygiene measures taken include disinfection of all surfaces several times a day, as well as arranging more intensive cleaning and disinfection of certain areas with the highest flow of visitors during the day, such as escalators, benches, toilets, elevators, restaurants, cafes, etc.
Also, in key places within the shopping centers, physical barriers have been set up to maintain social distancing, nanoseptic sanitary strips have been set up in certain areas, and automatic dispensaries with hand sanitizers have been set up in places near restaurants, toilets, and other important locations.
The ventilation systems of the shopping centers have also been changed to ensure that clean air is pumped regularly.
Wearing protective equipment by all employees was also arranged and stores within the malls have a limit of how many people can enter at the same time depending on their size.
NEPI ROCKCASTLE AND SAFE SHOPPING CENTERS COLLABORATION
All shopping centers belonging to the NEPI Rockcastle portfolio implement similar security measures in order to ensure a healthy environment for customers and employees.
So far, at the group level, SSC experts have also issued appropriate certificates to the shopping centers Mega Mall in Bucharest and Bonarka in Poland, as they fulfilled all of the conditions.
