The Future of Fashion Retail Panel at Promenada Novi Sad

“Serbia Fashion Week”, the most prestigious fashion event in the country, hosted this year a panel discussion on the topic of coronavirus and fashion, at Promenada Novi Sad shopping center.

The invisible enemy, as the coronavirus is often called, managed to shake up the whole world, and thus affect powerful fashion empires and brands. How the fashion world reacted to the pandemic, what fashion will look like after COVID-19, how much consumer habits have changed, and what shopping will look like in the future, were all questions that fashion experts discussed during the panel.

The panel named as “Look into the future” was moderated by TV host of “RTV Vojvodina” Mara Skendžić Reljić, and among the speakers were the creator and editor-in-chief of “Bazar” magazine Suzana Perić, her younger colleague, designer Nemanja Pantelić, stylist Kristina Bekvalac and stylist and television reporter Filip Maksimović.

ONLINE SHOPPING ON THE RISE

All participants agreed that creativity will never be endangered and that online shopping for fashion will increase in the future, especially for basic and affordable garments. But in their opinion, designer creations and fashion for special occasions will still be sought after in traditional stores.

The panelists also gave useful advice when it comes to “smart shopping” and trends for the next season, which was especially talked about by stylist Kristina Bekvalac.

PROMENADA NOVI SAD – THE PERFECT VENUE

Respecting all prescribed prevention measures in order to stop the spread of coronavirus, the panel took place on the terrace of Promenada Novi Sad. Promenada Novi Sad is one of the biggest shopping centers in Serbia and one of the most visited.

The terrace of the shopping center, which provides a fantastic view over the city of Novi Sad, was an ideal location for these “small conversations” about the future of fashion and shopping.

After the panel discussion, the participants, together with the audience, which included the State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Aleksandar Gajović, enjoyed a cocktail party.
