Leskovac Retail Park, in the Southern Serbian town Leskovac, is under development and it will present a whole new retail park concept in the Balkan region. Reimagining the Retail Park Concept
Retail parks used to be just a line of retail boxes facing a large parking area, but Leskovac Retail Park wanted to reimagine the retail park concept and transform it into a fun shopping city that will be also a major attraction for families and social media influencers! With spacious green outdoor common spaces, promenades, and squares, Leskovac Retail Park strives to become a new green city center of Leskovac where people will be able to gather to shop, enjoy fairs, concerts, children’s shows, outdoor sports activities, and much more.
Preserving History and Quality
Leskovac Retail Park is located in an extremely busy location just minutes from the city center of the Serbian town Leskovac. It is being developed on a land plot of a former wood factory Leskodrvo. Instead of demolishing the existing buildings of the factory, which were built from premium quality concrete, the developers have decided to preserve some of the historic buildings and transform their purpose to retail. By combing old and new constructions, Leskovac retail park will create a unique shopping destination that will be also the greenest development in the region, as it will be giving new life to existing buildings rather than causing waste by completely demolishing them.
By renovating the old factory buildings, Leskovac Retail Park will be celebrating the history of the local community and offering its visitors an unusual and unique shopping destination which will be a huge attraction not just for the citizens of Leskovac but also for tourists. The interesting factory buildings will be decorated with colorful murals that will be set up as perfect backdrops for taking TikTok and Instagram photos.
At the same time, its tenants will get the highest quality retail spaces, which no new retail park development can offer. Strong concrete walls, high ceilings, and historic charm are what sets Leskovac Retail Park apart from any other retail development in the market.
Layout and Tenant Mix
The whole retail park, consisting of 15.000 sqm of space, will accommodate approximately 30 retail units which will be occupied by popular local and international brands. Besides the usual fashion, sports, and footwear stores, its tenant mix will include entertainment facilities for families, a children’s playground, a fitness club, and a wide range of restaurants with outdoor seating areas. The outdoor spaces will offer amazing greenery making a stroll through the retail park an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
The idea behind the entire project is to create a new city center in Leskovac that will combine history with fantasy and demonstrate to the whole region how we can create new sustainable retail concepts by thinking outside the box. Construction works are scheduled to start in the second half of this year and we are excited to announce that the project will create 250 new jobs for the residents of Leskovac.
