CC Realโs City Center one East and West shopping centers in Croatia receive an excellent rating from BREEAM.
Sustainability has become increasingly significant in recent years.
This trend is unsurprising, given growing concerns over climate change and environmental issues that pose a growing risk globally. It is essential to recognize that positive change starts “in our own backyard.” Through small yet meaningful steps, everyone can contribute to preserving our only homeโEarth.
This philosophy guides CC Real, a company that manages City Center one East and City Center one West in Zagreb.
CC Realโs Commitment to Sustainability
CC Realโs commitment to sustainability was recently validated by the international BREEAM certification awarded to City Center one East and West.
The Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology, or BREEAM, is a British certification system that evaluates building sustainability. Its technical standards assess the overall building concept across ten different categories, and ratings are assigned based on performance.
This certification ensures that the buildings awarded follow the highest sustainable international standards for sustainability.
Achieving Excellence
Both centers received an “Excellent” rating.
The centers achieved outstanding scores in categories such as health and well-being, energy efficiency, water consumption, transportation and accessibility, pollution, land use and ecology, waste management, use of eco-friendly materials, and, ultimately, building resilience.
“To achieve an overall excellent result, it is crucial to optimally organize resource management in each category and demonstrate through the certification process that it is done to the highest standard. CC Real played a key role in managing and proving the quality of this system to the certifier, leading to the excellent rating,” said Ivica Tiลกljar, Head of Property Management at CC Real Croatia.
Sustainable Business Strategy
CC Real’s sustainable business strategy encompasses environmental protection, social responsibility, and corporate governance measures.
This approach guides the daily operations of the company and the shopping centers within its portfolio, creating additional value for clients and the community where the properties are located.
