AVA Shopping Park, a new retail park development by IKEA, is scheduled to open on the 26th of May in Belgrade.

The retail park is positioned right next to an existing IKEA store in Bubanj Potok municipality. The project is a 50 million EUR investment by IKEA, consisting of 19.000 sqm and housing over 35 domestic and international brands.

Approximately 1,200 parking spaces have been developed for its visitors, including 37 spots with electric charging. About 400 new jobs have been created for the local community thanks to this new project.

From the very beginning, the project was led by the famous consultancy company Novaston. The company is appointed to be in charge of operational management, maintenance, and marketing of the retail park.

2nd Phase of Development Starting Soon

According to Branko Mihajlov, General Project Manager at IKEA, an additional 10,000 sqm will be developed soon. This second phase of development, if all goes according to plan, will be completed by the spring of 2023.

We are very pleased that despite the challenges caused by the pandemic and crisis in Ukraine, we have still managed to complete the first phase of construction of our new project.  Ava Park is an important investment in Belgrade and we are positive that it will become a popular shopping and entertainment destination, Branko Mihajlov, General Project Manager at IKEA.

Tenant Mix

Olga Vlahović Leasing Manager from Novaston, stated that the biggest advantage of AVA Park is that it offers many outlet stores. It has a rich tenant mix of the most popular brands in the market including Nike, Under Armor, Converse, Puma, Adidas, Beosport, LC Waikiki, Sinsay, OVS, Coton, N fashion, S.Oliver, Fratelli Rosetti, Tom Tailor, Lacoste, Retro Jeans, Gigatron, DexycCo Kids and JYSK. 

Besides stores, the retail park offers restaurants and cafes, including international chains such as Starbucks and KFC.  A children’s play area “DexyCo Baby Park” has also been created by toy and kids product retailer DexyCo. This is the first time DexyCo has created a playground concept to complement its DexyCo Kids store.

Opening Ceremony Celebration

The opening of AVA Retail park will be celebrated with a special entertainment program taking place from the 26th to the 29th of May. The all-day program called “AVAanture” will offer visitors numerous gifts, store discounts of up to 70%, workshops for kids and parents, an attractive climbing rock installation, and many other entertaining activities for all generations.

On the very day of opening, the 26th of May, the program will include: 

• Choir Čarolija – 4.30 pm
• Meet up with influencer and YouTuber Ana Lazarević – 5.30 pm
• TAP 011 concert with the original band members – 6:30 pm
• Musical performance by Serbian Eurovision winner Marija Šerifović – 8 pm
