Logistics Centers Attracting Investors in Serbia

Leading real estate consultancy company, CBS International, brokered the biggest logistics investment transaction in Serbia

The logistics and industrial market has become one of the most progressive and fastest-growing sectors in the real estate industry, showing the most resilience during these difficult times caused by the pandemic.

This is the very reason why the first registered investment transaction in Serbia during the pandemic, was in the segment of logistic centers.

CBS International highlighted that this transaction proves once more that Serbia is an attractive destination for international investors, with attractive yields not only in logistics but also in the office and residential markets.

The leading real estate investor in Serbia, BIG CEE acquired a logistics and distribution complex, which is headquartered by Kuehne Nagel – a global leader in logistics, operating in Serbia since 2002. The leading real estate consultancy company CBS International, part of the Cushman & Wakefield Group, brokered this very important acquisition.

BIG CEE is part of BIG Shopping Centers Israel, which currently manages 59 shopping centers worldwide, including 27 shopping centers in the USA and 7 in Serbia.

Kuehne Nagel is an international company involved in sea logistics, air logistics, road logistics, and has a strong focus on IT-based integrated logistics solutions.

The acquired logistics complex spreads over 17,000 sqm and is in a long-term lease by Kuehne Nagel since 2007. It is located in the industrial zone of Belgrade, at the border of Dobanovci and Ugrinovci areas. The new owner will support the expansion of the complex with future investments to satisfy the growing needs of its tenant.

CEO of BIG CEE, Robert Yahav, stated:

“I’m very proud of the fact that, after numerous investments we made primarily in the retail segment – in shopping centers and retail parks, we have further strengthened our already significant portfolio in Serbia, with this new investment in the industrial and logistics market.”

The Director of a domestic construction company Kokir Gradnja, which developed the logistics center, Milan Kokir, commented:

“We’re very honored to have found a partner recognizing the significance and potential of this modern logistics complex, who will further continue to expand and develop facilities in line with the needs of the tenant on the remaining part of the land lot.”

A leading real estate consultancy company, CBS International is part of the Cushman & Wakefield Group, one of the world’s largest real estate consultancies with over 53,000 employees in more than 60 countries and a revenue of $ 8.8 billion in 2019.

As a regional leader, CBS International has been operational for nearly two decades in the real estate market in Serbia and has an impeccable track record, providing a wide range of integrated services: real estate appraisal and development consulting, leasing and selling office and retail space, renting and selling residential space, leasing and selling industrial property, sale of land, market research, project management, marketing, and property management and maintenance.
