Tirana East Gate Raises the Bar for Retail & Entertainment in Albania

Albania’s leading shopping destination, Tirana East Gate, is starting its second major expansion to meet growing demand from consumers and international brands.

With over 10.5 million visitors annually, TEG is the most visited shopping center in Albania.

As foot traffic continues to grow year after year, it is natural that almost every successful international brand expanding in the country is seeking a store at TEG.

To accommodate rising demand from global brands and elevate the shopping experience through the integration of unique entertainment and leisure activities, TEG will undergo an expansion project over the next two years.

Expansion Details

The project will include:

  • Over 14,000 sqm of new GLA
  • 650 new parking spaces
  • 8,000 sqm dedicated to the most unique entertainment concept in Albania
  • More than 40 new international brands

As consumer behavior evolves and the Albanian retail market matures, TEG is increasingly recognized as an icon of transformation. It sets new benchmarks for how shopping centers bring together commerce, entertainment, and social experiences under one roof.

“This second major expansion reflects our commitment to continuously meeting customer demands while attracting the strongest international brands to Albania. Our vision is to elevate retail, entertainment, F&B, and leisure experiences, positioning Tirana East Gate as a true icon of transformation. By introducing unique entertainment concepts and expanding our retail offering, we are shaping a destination that goes beyond shopping and delivers lasting value through experience,” says Elda Hysenbelli, CEO of TEG.

Digital Evolution

Accessibility and digital services will also be upgraded.

This includes:

  • Introducing smart parking systems
  • Improving customer journey through smart solutions
  • Enhancing the loyalty and customer engagement ecosystem

These upgrades are designed to improve the overall customer journey and the digital
infrastructure, which will support the mall’s long-term performance growth.

Timeline

The expansion project is scheduled for completion by 2028.

Following the expansion, TEG will feature over 160 shops and services, with a total GLA exceeding 63,000 sqm.

This investment will further strengthen TEG’s position as the largest, most modern, and most visited shopping center in Albania.
