Primark, an Irish clothing and accessories retailer owned by Associated British Foods plc, announced that it will enter the Slovenian market in 2019. The company’s first store will open in Citypark shopping center on no. 152g Šmartinska cesta in Ljubljana.
Primark is currently recruiting staff for its upcoming store opening in Slovenia, and has various positions advertised on its website.
The arrival of this major fashion giant will increase the competition on the Slovenian market, which continues to attract new international retailers, such as the LPP Group (the owners of the fashion brand RESERVED) and the British cosmetics and skincare retailer The Body Shop.
Primark opened its first store in Dublin, Ireland, in 1969 under the name Penney's. Today, the chain operates more than 360 stores in 11 countries across Europe and America. The company has become one of the largest players in the UK clothing market and continues to strengthen its presence internationally, in countries like Spain, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Austria and the United States.
Adored by fashion lovers and value seekers alike, Primark is known as the destination store for keeping up with the latest fashion trends. Its retail assortment spans a diverse range of products, from baby and kids to women’s and men’s fashion, home decor, accessories, beauty products and confectionery, sold at affordable prices.
The retailer stands out through its ability to adopt fashion trends quickly, identify and market novelty items and offer excellent value for money. In addition to its aggressive retail expansion, Primark also has a strong presence on social media, which includes a hub of user-generated content.
The chain is owned by Associated British Foods plc, a diversified international food, ingredients and retail group operating in 50 countries across Europe, southern Africa, the Americas, Asia and Australia. The Group’s sales amount to 15.4 billion GBP while the number of employees is around 133,000.
