Intersport Expands in Podgorica

Good news for sports lovers in Montenegro: a new INTERSPORT store has opened its doors within City Mall in Podgorica. 

The leading multi-brand sports retailer INTERSPORT is celebrating ten years of operations in Podgorica this year. 

The chain has enjoyed great success in the past decade and has decided to open a second outlet in Montenegro’s capital on the 20th of February. 

Stretching over 500 sqm of retail space, the new store is designed according to the company’s new concept. It offers a wide assortment of apparel, footwear, equipment, and accessories for all types of sports – from fitness, running, mountaineering, and skiing to swimming, tennis, and group sports. 

The store is conveniently located within City Mall in Podgorica, right next to Delta City shopping center. 


At the moment, INTERSPORT operates a chain of eight stores and an e-commerce website in Montenegro. The stores are located in Podgorica, Kotor, Nikšić, Ulcinj, Zelenika, Bar and Budva. 


Within the southeast Europe region, INTERSPORT has established a presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, and Slovenia. 

The chain is popular with consumers in southeast Europe, offering high quality and competitively priced products for every taste, age, and skill level. 

Its main competitors in the region include international and domestic sports chains Decathlon, Sport Vision, Hervis Sports, Sportisimo, Tomas Sport, and Đak Sport.


With retail sales of 11.5 million EUR in 2017 and a chain 6,200 retail stores in 58 countries, INTERSPORT is the world’s leading sporting goods retailer. 

In December 2012, the company acquired the athletic specialty footwear chain, The Athlete’s Foot, with around 533 stores in 32 countries.
