Spar Croatia d.o.o., supermarket chain owned by SPAR Osterreichische Warenhandels AG, opened on the 15th of March its new INTERSPAR hypermarket in Rijeka’s area of Rujevica.
The new store represents an investment equal to 23 million EUR and employs 120 people.
Spreading over 4,000 sqm of retail space, the hypermarket offers more than 30,000 food and non-food articles. Its amenities include a restaurant, underground garage with 222 parking spaces and five electric vehicle charging points, as well as 40 outdoor parking spaces.
INTERSPAR Rujevica features a new interior design concept that enhances the shopping experience. The complex was built using natural materials, according to the latest energy efficiency standards.
As previously announced, Spar aims to continue its expansion in Croatia, aiming to become the largest retail investor on the local market.
Currently, the chain operates a total of 84 SPAR supermarkets and 20 INTERSPAR hypermarkets across the country, employing more than 4,346 people.
In April 2017, Spar concluded the takeover of 62 Billa stores in Croatia as part of its aim to pursue further development on the Croatian market.
